8G Nano (3rd Gen) Freezing

When I went to connect my iPod to my computer to add some new songs, the iPod started playing a song and then froze 9 seconds in. ITunes opened and said the iPod was corrupt and needed to be reset, but when I pressed reset iTunes froze and now it will not open either. Any suggestions on what might be wrong or how I can fix this?
