Occasionally, when I turn on my iphone, it refuses to operate until it has been plugged into itunes. What if I'm no where near my computer and I need to use my phone? Is there some way around this? And, why is it even doing this?

I've only had my iPhone for two months but I call everyday and NEVER had to connect to iTunes unless I wanted to do so. You might consider doing a reset.

It sounds like your iPhone is resetting itself, which isn't a good sign. Unless you're running the battery so low that its giving you the connect to iTunes graphic before it turns off completely. I'm guessing its the former and you need to take it to be fixed.

I've never needed to be near itunes for my iPhone. It doesn't sound right and you should call apple care on this.

That has happened to me twice in 4 months. Usually restarting it again makes it fix itself. If it happens every time you turn it on you need to have it replaced.

So sue Apple. Then again, that sounds like an ATT problem.
