These are just with the calendar:

1) Once you sync a calendar to your phone from your mac, you can't get rid of it. You can delete MobileMe cals, google cals, exchange cals, but you can't delete calendars that were sync'd from your mac. If you unselect all calendars in itunes, then it reverts to syncing all of them. Weird.

2) You can't create meeting invitations with MobileMe or google calendars. This only works with Exchange calendars. Lame they don't make their own service have feature parity.

3) You can only have one Exchange account. This seems odd since you can have both an Exchange and MobileMe account. For those of us that want to sync with google calendars and Exchange, there isn't a good way to do it. You have to use the calDAV sync with google which means you can't use meeting invitations

4) Birthdays don't sync automatically. At least you can set them up manually now, but it's weak that they don't set it up for you automatically. Same with Holidays.

#4 makes my brow furl. I need those birthdays in my calendar in order to avoid being yelled at by those who feel like I don't love them anymore because I didn't call them on their birthday.

The others don't bother me because I don't deal with any of that stuff.

You can sync the birthdays to your phone and they will stay updated from your Mac, it's just that setup isn't automatic. You have to publish the birthday calendar in iCal and then type in the URL to the .ics calendar on your iPhone. Once it is set up it works okay. I was just disappointed that they didn't Apple-ify the whole process.

Oohh, I did not know that. Thanks for the info! I'll have to make that happen tonight.

Only having one Exchange account sounds normal to me, you can only ever have one Exchange account in an Outlook profile. I don't suppose Mail on the iPhone has any sort of profile system does it?

Why the artificial limit? The iPhone can mingle an Exchange account with a MobileMe account without difficulty. There are just two root level categories, one for each. Why can't you have as many Exchange accounts as you want, each with its own root level category. For instance, you could have Google Exchange, Work Exchange, and MobileMe all on the same phone. It just isn't clear to me why there is a limitation.

Does it have to do with the ActiveSync license that Apple has? Only one account per device?

I love the evolution of bitching. If it's not one thing its another.

Not quite. It's more precise to state it in this fashion: If one feature gets added, the next iteration of bitching about said thing begins.

It seems that the 'spotlight' search feature doesn't extend to SMS messages yet - is this an isolated case I'm having, or could someone here confirm it, plz?
