Now that I have one, I'm very confused about accessories for my iPhone. How can you tell if an accessory supports it? Without buying it and testing it out first, of course...

For example, I have a Belkin "Auto Kit for iPod w/ Dock Connector," which features the "Made for iPod" logo. It has a dock connector for charging and line-out audio, and it works great with my Photo iPod and 2G Nano. Will it work with my new iPhone? What about my various Docks, specifically either the "pre-remote" or "remote" Universal Dock?

A lot of the accessories that claim not to work with the iPhone do. We've got a Bose Sound Dock and it works just fine.

Well my Belkin iPod charger/audio port (for the Aux port on my stereo) works fine with iPods, but the iPhone flat out says "I won't charge with this." (Not those words of course.) Do Griffin's Power Jolt products really charge iPhones? I don't want to spend another $20 for something that won't do what I need.
