Ok so here's the scenario. I am a 1st time iphone user. I bought 2 G3S phones the other day. I am trying to set up my email from my isp on it. Sometimes I'll get SSL errors, or incorrect password/usrname or timeout messages. Sometimes it looks like it works but it will just loop "checking email", other times it will take like 5 minutes to send an email. The isp's are Charter and Time Warner.

To me is sounds like a setting issue that Im not seeing as it does the same things on BOTH phones.

Here's the part that gets me. I setup my email on a relatives 1 gen iphone and it went flawless.. Going back to the blackberry until I can figure this out or they will have to go back..

I had a similar problem with my Gmail account until I disconnected from my WiFi network and did the setup over 3G. I was surprised when a) mail setup worked the very first time connecting via 3G, and b) after that, it just kept working. Give this a shot and see if it helps.

well i did some of what you mentioned and some of what network solutions told me and it worked. I honestly couldnt set it up again if I had to. So im hoping I wont have to. So far my iphone experience hasnt been to great so I hope it gets better.

Never had a problem with it on my touch.
