I did a restore to factory today, after seeing a lot of problems with my phone after the 3.1 update.

When setting up my exchange server, the phone asked me for a passcode. Nothing new, right? Thing is, I had a full keyboard to use - just like most apps.

Now, to unlock my phone, you get a full QWERTY keyboard instead of the 1-9 keypad.

My wife did the same on her phone (except she restored her settings), and she has the 1-9.

Anyone know the story here?

Do you have an Exchange account? A friend of mine does, and when his QWERTY keyboard popped up to unlock, I asked him why. He said it was his Exchange administration had a setting requiring a more robust password, and therefore the iPhone had to enforce that.

I can't test it out myself.
Too many Apple/Mac products to even bother listing!
