I have a 5th generation iPod and a Macbook OSX 10.4 and the most recent version of iTunes. My iPod is finicky about what it likes - it will only charge with my car charger sometimes, and no longer charges in the iPod dock. The worst problem is that my computer (usually) won't recognize it when connected through the USB. The iPod will light up when connected and disconnected, but iTunes won't open and the iPod won't show up on the Desktop. Everytime I connect the iPod, all my On-the-go playlists are erased, but nothing is updated! Every once in a while I'll get lucky and the computer will see and sync the iPod to iTunes.
Any ideas? Help! What are my options?
