i have an iPhone i sync with my home macbook, at work on a mac desktop i want to play the music on it while it charges. How do I do that?

I hook the iPhone up via USB but iTunes grey's out the music on the iPhone so I can't play it. If i select Manually manage it says it wants to erase my iPhone.

help? please?

You can't. You have to use an external charger and plug in external speakers or use earbuds or a headset.

Just disconnect your external speakers and plug them into your iPhone. If you don't have external speakers, well, they're not very expensive...
