It would be nice if you sort of let us know which reviews you're talking about. There have been ZERO reviews of the phone "thrown out" in this forum since the phone came out. None. Zip. Zilch. So where have you been trying to post these negative reviews? Considering that I'm replying to the very first post you've made under this user name, it would also be helpful to know "who" you were when you tried to post those reviews.

If he was spamming, he'd be gone. He's suggesting that we are not ethical, and that bugs me.

That really bugs you? You're too much of a nice guy sometimes, Glenn.

Indeed you are, Glenn. Not that being a nice guy is a bad thing though.

As a long-time regular here I cannot see anything unethical about the way you guys run this place.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. If he has a valid claim, he'll post about it in a sincere (read: in a comprehensible and polite) way. My gut feeling says though that a friend of his will be chiming in shortly.

I hate my iphone 3GS!!!I hate my iphone 3GS!!!I hate my iphone 3GS!!!I hate my iphone 3GS!!!I hate my iphone 3GS!!!

Ifacts you don't see in the iadvertisments

The operating system is cumbersome and confusing to use. It idrops too many of my icalls. The voice recognition system SUCKS!!! apple will not allow me to download non copyrighted material not in their library for a ringtone, or I have to pay them more money to put stuff on MY phone. It tries to take over,(borg),my pc. The apps are mostly games and are not worth diddly unless the user is a child. The battery life is shorter than a fuse. I'm tired of of apple trying to pick my pocket to get anything of value for use on my iphone. Using the itunes program is a friggin' joke!!! The product specific icords and adapters are iexpensive and an ipain in the ibutt!! The ipixel count for the icamera is sooo 1990's!

P.T. Barnum was right and apple products are modern proof of his statement!! (Look it up!)

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! (iphone 4G will just be a faster disappointment).

Was your first attempt that annoying? I don't mean to be rude, you may complain about the phone if you wish, but no one is going to take you seriously if you insist on putting "i" in front of every word in your rant. That my friend, actually is sooo 1990's

This thread rules.

Dare I say, it irules?

Its a shame that you don't like your iPhone. Good thing there are solid alternatives that you can buy, right? Good thing that you aren't forced to buy an iPhone, right? Right.

Next!

nobull1, were you aware that many people use the iPhone OS and its interface as a standard to hold other smart phones to-and find the others lacking? Were you aware that Mac users can create ringtones from ANY musical materials they have on hand through a simple use of GarageBand? I have a number of apps that are anything but games, from medical reference to GPS to research tools; sure "most" of the stuff one sees in the App Store is games, but if you look, there are many really useful apps for the phone. And I get something around 3 days of moderate use, including surfing and research, out of one charge on my 3Gs-which I picked up on day one.

I'm very sorry you feel cheated, but I hardly think that the iPhone 3Gs is a ripoff, nor that Apple is "picking your pocket." I'm also sorry you had problems posting your venting/rant the first time. You seem to have figured out the problem now, so Welcome to MacNN!

Note also that with iTunes I can create ringtones of any music I have in iTunes absolutely for free. I have done it several times already and use those free ringtones on my iPhone.

There's a simple workflow to get it done. It's all over the web. Had the OP asked nicely about it instead of being such a jerk I would have searched for a link and posted it.

Oh, and btw, application developers set the price for their apps.

Apple has absolutely no say in the pricing.

Though they have gone on record as making recommendations -notably to Tapulous, iirc, recommending they HALVE their prices.

So much for picking your pocket.

Ladies(and gentlemen),
Thank you for responding to my previous post. Please get familiar with the word sarcasm. Maybe I was expecting too much from apple
equipment! I admit I am new to alot of this stuff. I have a PC and not a mac therefoe do not possess garageband. I have followed to the letter various bloggs and postings about downloading files for a ringtone and conversion but to no avail. No apologies for my previous post.
However,I still stand behind my other statements.

I would have responded sooner but that earning a living stuff got in the way.

Making ringtones for free with iTunes works on a PC too. Just like on the Mac.

Of course if you rather spend your time writing rants on a board (and lecturing about your skillful application of sarcasm) than educating yourself I can see how you'd get stuck on that one.
