I've been trying to pre-order the new iPhone at store.apple.com. I've tried about 10 times and get some kind of error each time. My favorite was "Oops!".

Apple is getting hammered with pre-orders.

Finally got my order placed after I don't know how many attempts.

Apple really needs to beef up their online order processing capability.

Apparently its AT&T's servers that are getting overworked. Things go smoothly until it has to check AT&Ts servers for your records and eligibility. Thats when things hang and boot you out.

All the other steps fly by, and I assume those are handled on Apple's side.

That's not my experience.

I got hung up and kicked out during the order processing, when the eligibility check was already done.
