I am thinking of holding out for the white iPhone, but then it dawned on me that it may have even worse reception than the current newest iPhone. Is anyone worried about it?
Has Apple been difficult at replacing your phone, if you find it has bad 3G?

Why would a change in the color plate provide worse reception?

Those plates are causing manufacturing problems right now. No one knows why.

I'd be highly surprised if the white-colored iPhone had more problems than the current, black-only version; it's merely a change in color. One would think (hope, perhaps?) that Apple would attempt to iron out some of the current iP4 issues with that extra time, too.

Those plates have nothing to do with the antenna, though.

That glass is embedded with aluminum, though, and is known to have low impedance at high frequencies.
