Hi to everyone,

I thank you in advance for any help you may offer. My gf loves the Mac World (don't ask me why, I hate it) and tried to upgrade a 3G iPhone to the new OS4. It didn't worl. The phone got stuck on the splash screen with the white apple and progress logo. After fixing the problem by re-installing the OS4 from scratch she, obviously, found herself with a clean phone. She tried to restore from iTunes but it didn't work properly: Programs and apps were restored but not content. How can I fix this for her? Please help, thank you.

I had a near similar experience. In iTunes, preferences, you can find a backup. My 3G was disabled and I was able to go back to an older backup which wasn't great but better. My 3Gs had contacts/address book get sideways with lost contacts or contacts broken up. Look for the backup to restore addresses, notes, etc. i0S4.1 is better but not great, best to get off 4.0. If a 3G, some threads point to disabling Spotlight (settings, general, home button) for an increase in speed (works).
