Sorry for the newb question, but I just synced my iPad before having to share it with a coworker. I want to backup the apps I bought in case she deletes them. (I'm assuming I will get it back at some point). Sync does not do this, viewing the iPad in itunes shows no apps and no way to copy what I have...

Also, I see there's an update to install. When I go to do it, it reminds me there are purchased items I need to back up... but how to do this?

And lastly, there is a photo album I'd like to delete, but it was synced from a different computer. Any way to delete?

There are purchased items on the ipad "a*p" that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes Library before updating this ipad. Continue?

If you purchased them on the iPad, they should copy over to iTunes when you sync. Are you sure it's not doing this? Is "Sync Apps" turned on? Is this the computer that is normally used to sync the iPad? If not, you may need to authorize this computer for your iTunes account (Store menu -> Authorize this computer).

Thanks Steve. Sync apps is turned on, but it's telling me it will erase everything on the iPad. It was sync'd on another computer too, that might be the problem. Work and home computers are both authorized for my iTunes account.

I'm betting the iPad considers the other computer the "primary" computer and that's where the backups are stored and the actual syncing takes place (I don't think you can technically sync the iPad (or iPods or iPhones, for that matter) with more than one primary computer).
