You've got the gist already. It does in fact fit an iPhone 4 with a bumper.

I have the silver one with a slant. The polishing is uneven. This might bother me if it was on my desk instead of on the TV stand. It's a little hard to judge the angle of insertion, and it's a tight fit.

As expensive as a bumper before they started handing them out.

Wow! A pretty good business plan predicated on Apple designing an iPhone 4 with an antenna problem which necessitated giving away a lot of Bumpers! Hence the urgent need for a dock with room for a Bumper case!

Sounds like a winner--and I'm sure a lot of people in the forums are going to be grateful that you found this!

At the moment, it seems like the only option short of taking a Dremel to a 1st generation iPhone dock.
