My iPad has been acting a little buggy lately. It randomly shut down yesterday and did a hard reset on its own when I visited a website that streams TV designed for the iPad (filmon.com). Sometimes when I press the on/off button on the top, it responds a bit laggy as well and I thought maybe its time to do a full "restore as new iPad" procedure. I'm going on a trip for a week and will be bringing my iPad--but not my laptop. If my iPad crashes on me I'll have no way to bring it back to life without my laptop.
However, I don't want to lose all my game/appliation data. My question is, if I upgrade to iOS 4.2 when its released will the new firmware accomplish the same thing as if I restored my iPad under the current iOS version?
