I think the only thing standing between the iPad and some truly monumental adoption rates is a way for IT departments to manage apps. Address that and the iPad's a no-brainer.
It will be interesting to see how much walled garden Apple is willing to trade away to get enterprise customers.

When iOS4 is released, Sybase will do that with their Afaria product. (They already do this on iOS4 iPhones.) The enterprise will need an enterprise cert for their apps, then beyond that it's all internal app deployment.
