Hello:

I have an iPod Touch 2G that will not turn on, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be?

Here is a list of the troubleshooting I did so far:
1. Allowed iPod Touch to charge for several hours
2. Connected it to my computer and opened iTunes
3. Pressed Power button and Home Screen at the same time and held them for 10 seconds
4. Did not hear a beep or any noise
5. Released the power button and held the home button for a little bit longer

Still, nothing happens. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Thank You

How are you charging it? If you're using a wall charger, are you sure it's working?
Have you tried a different cable to charge it?

Try to get it into DFU mode. By doing this you should:

1. Hold the power button for about 3-4 seconds.
2. Then hold both the power button, and the home button at the same time for about 15 seconds.
3. Release the power button but keep your finger on the home button.

This will get it in DFU mode. Allowing iTunes to restore your iPod Touch from either a back-up or just installing a fresh install.
