On 2 desktops and a MBP when I plug in my Verizon iPhone Aperture starts and comes to the foreground. This is true even if iTunes is already open. iTunes is checked to open when the iPhone is plugged in. I have run permissions. No change. Any thoughts? All else works just as it should.

Check the Aperture preferences. There’s a setting somewhere in there where you choose which app to open when a camera is connected (the iPhone counts as a camera, as well as an iPhone to be controlled by iTunes). Just set that to iPhoto, if you want that to open up every time you plug in your iPhone, or to “None” if you don’t want anything opening up.
