I have an iPod nano, I think 2 Gen.
I use it maybe 3 hrs. a week for the last 2 1/2 years. Suddenly, it won't boot. Nothing even on the screen. It doesn't get recognized in iTunes. Is there a format type thing you can do on them?

Any tips/tricks/advice?

You can try resetting it (search Apple Support for procedure) but chances are, it's completely borked. I've had TWO iPods give up the ghost after using them for 2-3 years.
