i recentky changed my mail password
my iPad tells me it has changed, but does NOT show how/where to change it!
could someone tell me how?

Assuming it's like the iPhone: in the Settings app, you select "Mail, contacts, calendar", then the account you have, and then the account one more time to change the saved password.
The low-end Mac Pro is the most overpriced Mac since the IIvx
It is indeed just like the iPhone in this regard. One thing I'm not thrilled with about iOS is how settings aren't particularly obvious or easily accessed. It's not as consistent as I think it should be, particularly with where built in apps have their settings.
