I have a standard cell phone right now, and of course there's been a lot of discussion of the potential dangers of cell phone use. Right now, I keep my cell phone off at all times unless I am texting or talking.

I have been considering switching to a smartphone, an iphone in particular, and my understanding is that these phones have even higher emf levels.

Are there any devices which can protect cell phone users from emf's?

A quick search brings up a product called sar shield, but I know of no research on it's effectiveness.

Are you aware of any reputable research that conclusively proves cell phones to be harmful?

By reputable, I mean people who have degrees where their tin foil hats should be.

In all seriousness if you believe that cellphones are harmful, you shouldn't use a smartphone. They send a lot more data back and forth constantly and leaving them switched off defats the object IMO.
Cellphones are nowhere near powerful enough to do you much harm. There are other things far more worthy of your concern.
