Sprint iPhone can surf/talk simutaneously; Verizon?

I just realized today that my Sprint iPhone 4S allows me to talk and surf (and do other stuff) at the same time. Supposedly, you couldn't do that with Verizon iPhones. Is that still true? Did something change in iOS 5 or with the iPhone 4S to allow simultaneous talking and surfing at the same time?

BTW, I was at home, so maybe I could surf on wi-fi while talking on the cellular network?

Just curious ...

You can talk and browse on Sprint/Verizon as long as you're not using the 3G/CDMA data connection - wifi works and 4G LTE will work when Apple adds the hardware in the future.
