This may seems silly, but i can't figure it out.
I took a video using my iPhone. Then i sync the iPhone to my computer and delete the photos/videos from my iPhone after the sync (from a pop-up box that says do you want to remove or keep the photos).

Ok, so now i put some of the pictures from this month (and videos) into a smart folder. Now i want to sync. But i can't get the videos to transfer back. So the question is, how do i get the iPhone videos on my computer back to the iPhone?

i keep getting a message that "items could not be synced". I assume they are not compatible (maybe because they are in a .Mov format) but i didn't change anything, it must be in whatever format they were taken with using the iPhone. what format does the iPhone take videos in?

I have an iPhone 4 with the latest iOS.

Why do you delete the photos and video from your drive after putting them on your iPhone? That's why you're having problems, particularly if you have those things to automatically sync.

sorry for the confusion. i'm not deleting them from my hard drive on the computer. after the iPhone sync is done, i select "delete" from pop-up box which removes it from the iPhone.

If the stuff is in a new folder, the sync process may not find it.

i guess i'm not being clear.
i have a folder in iPhoto with pics and videos (the videos were taken on an iPhone). It doesn't matter if it's an old or new folder because the folder is properly checked to sync and it does for the photos only.

how come when i sync that folder, only the pics transfer? why am i getting that "items can't be synced" message.

Can you test this out on your end. take simple iPhone video. sync to computer. delete on the iPhone. Throw that video into a folder in iPhoto and then sync back to phone and let me know it it shows up.

In iTunes under the Photos tab of your sync settings there is an "Include Videos" checkbox. Its not ticked by default.

I tested it out just for you and it works for me. As you described, pictures only with that box unchecked, syncs videos too when I check it.
FWIW mine is set to sync only selected albums.

My 4S is saving .MOV files .h264 1920x1080 23.8fps. I have no reason to believe there is any file conversion going on during sync. I guess your other option is to import the video into iTunes and sync it.
