I've been an AIM user since I first 'got on' the internet. These days I use iChat.
So when I got my new iPhone 4s, I installed this updated free AIM app. Like everyone else, I hated it, and deleted it. (it currently has 1.5 stars in the App store).
But it has caused a new problem. My screen name now NEVER signs off and never goes idle. It just stays online. Even if I sign off with iChat. When I sign on, I get bombarded with a bunch of delayed IMs. I reinstalled the iPhone app to see if there was a 'sign off after' setting anywhere I could use to "release" my screen name. But as far as I could tell, no such luck. So now I'm stuck. Does anyone know a trick to getting my screen name to NO LONGER stay online ALL THE TIME?

reinstall it and sign off from the System > General and AIm I believe. Should sign out automatically after 3 days too.

System > General > AIM ? No such menu item. Also there's no Settings > AIM either. And my screen name is not signing off after 3 days. Unless ichat is renewing the 3 day counter. I use ichat daily, I just want my screen name to sign off when ichat signs off.

Sorry it would be just Settings, then there should be a AIM app listed at the bottom with all the other apps but it has to be installed first.

It is installed and it isn't there. I've never seen that "control panel" there since I installed this new version of AIM.

It is gone. The new version of AIM is totally new. Theres no way to DO anything. You're just always on, all the time, no matter what, even if you uninstall the app.

I have no such button. The only thing I see in profile is a field for my first and last name. Are you using AIM 5?

Oh jesus, the big giant red button! Not sure how that button blended in. But I don't see any options for time?
