Hi there,

When i first install the Vitual PC 5.0 ... It comes with the PC DOS Boot Disk "re-installed" in it ... However ... i lost it after installing Windows 98 ...

Now i want to install Red Hat Linux, a created a disk image ... It won't boot from the CD ... neither to the image i created from the CD ...

How can i install it? Do i still need the PC DOS Boot Disk? Thanks in advance!

Best regards from,

As far as I know, you can use the Setup Wizard (I guess that's what it's called) to create a new image. It'll ask if you want to use an existing image or create a new one. I just made a new one for Win XP without any problems.

Just click new, and make sure you select "Guide Me" when it comes to making an image. The rest is cake

I also trying to install Redhat Linux version 7.3

What you need to do is after you start in DOS you Mount or
capture the disc it's the second cd icon on VPC when in
window mode or select from the top menus.

After you capture the cd image reboot the VPC (not your mac)

And then linux will self load and you can start the installation
process.

The problem I have is that I have downloaded disc 2 twice
and when I run the check on the disc it has failures.

Are you instaling the download version (free) or do you have the
boxed version?

If so are you having the same or similar problems
