When I set my iMac CD up I partitioned my disk into 3 partitions. Tiger, User, and Extra. The Extra was intended for Windows when somebody figured out how to install it. Well Boot Camp will not work if your startup disk is not a single partition. Does anybody know of a way around this? Another option for me would be to install Windows on the Extra partition. To be able to do that I would need to format that partition. Can I just reformat a partition as FAT instead of the whole disk?

I don't think your plan will work, because Boot Camp does more than just repartitioning your drive. You NEED the boot manager that Bood Camp installs for the whole thing to work.

Can you just do a backup and then reinstall OS X and choose to repartition the drive as ONE partition? I think if you get back to this default situation (and restore your OS X data, of course) that Boot Camp will work properly for you.

I was afraid of that. Yeah backing up and reinstalling is definately an option. I was just hoping to avoid it. I don't really need to run Windows, I was really doing it out of curiosity. My brother is Pro-Windows and he would of appreciated Windows running on my new iMac.

Oh well, thanks for your thoughts
