Does anyone know of
(1) a menu item that controls the Startup Disk selection
(2) a method for using /usr/sbin/bless to select a Windows disk for booting?
(3) any way, short of GUI scripting, to automate Startup Disk selection?

All these years after I last dual-booted OS 9 and OS X, I'm finding reasons to boot into Windows. But it's kind of annoying to do the System Preferences dance.

p.s. Super Shut Down looked perfect, but it does not seem to recognize the Windows partition as a valid startup disk.
