I recently partitioned my HD on my Macbook Pro and installed Windows XP Pro. Now here is my issue:

I want an external HD for storage and I want BOTH OSes to be able to read and write from the disk (for backup on OS X and for installing Apps on Windows)

Can I purchase a standard external USB2 HD and format it as FAT32 and have it work how I want.

Thanks

This belongs in the Alternative OS forum...

And as far as I know, your plan should work.

And it does work! I have a 320 gig Western Digital Media Center drive that comes formatted in FAT32, and I use it to pass files and folders back and forth between the two OSes. It's also pretty durn quiet, connects via FireWire or USB, and it works as a card reader and a USB hub.

Not bad at all . . .
