So I installed bootcamp and then installed windows xp home. all went well until after it restart after installing. I would get a screen that says could not find boot disk. so i tried reinstalling windows xp. still did the same thing after numerous times of trying to reinstall windows. so i decide to try to restart it and hold down the option key to try to go into osx. but it didnt even give me the option to boot up osx. after trying to figure out whats going on i decided to try to just reinstall osx. go through everything until it asks me where to install osx onto. at this screen it doesnt show any hard drives... so i need help! my comp is pretty much useless atm since i cant load up any os or install either os... =/

Under the application menu in the installer, there's an option to open Disk Utility. Erase the drive in Disk Utility and the installer should be able to see it. (This will, of course, lose any data on the disk. But it sounds like the filesystem is hosed anyway.)

But if you need any files off of the hard disk and have access to another computer, you might try booting up in Target Disk Mode (connect a firewire cable between your computer and another mac and then hold down T on the keyboard while booting). It may not work, since the installer can't see the disk.
