Hi,

I recently purchased this machine and today I installed Bootcamp on it. I was able to install Windows XP SP2 on it successfully.
I am facing an issue. Whenever I start my machine, it boots into windows by default and I am not shown any choice to choose between Mac and windows.
Do i need to press any key or am I doing something wrong here.

Thanks in advance,

Nitin

Since you bought a Mac, I assume your 1st choice OS would be OS X. So, once you are in OS X, go to system preferences > startup disk, and choose Mac OS X.

When you start up a boot camp enabled mac, if you do not hold down the option key, you will get no boot option, and it will boot into the set up OS (which you change as I just described). So, to recap, to choose which OS to start into, start your mac holding the option key until you see a screen appear that will allow you to choose an OS.

Quick look at apple's bootcamp guide...

Looks like you need to hold the option key immediately after restart.

Thanks a lot...

Infact, I was not able to enter into mac. Option key needs to be kept pressed immediately after start.

Thanks again.

If you hold down the alt key when booting you will get the option to boot into windows or tiger by way of two hard drive icons. use the cursor keys to select which os.

This in an annoying step, yes I realise that Bootcamp is beta, but the installer should ether give you the option to set the default startup OS or tell you to open the control panel and set it as one of the the steps.
It's confusing that, as Windows has to go on the 'first' partition. you end up with a Mac that will Auto restart in to Windows as the DEFAULT.

in windows you can choose wich partition will be your startup disk. The same is valid for OS X.
I saw it in ScreenCast Online videopodcast in itunes. It's free and explain all the process.
