I dont really know much about boot camp so here are some quick questions that I hope you guys can answer for me:
Do you need the windows xp installation disc in the drive every time you start up?
Are these installation discs sold seperately? If so, for how much?
Can boot camp detect a cd in the drive so I can play pc games on it?
How will the overall performance of xp be. I heard it can be better than some pc notebooks! (I am on a 2ghz, 2gb ram Macbook Pro)
Since it is still in beta, has anyone had any problems with boot camp?

Boot Camp makes a Mac just like any other Windows computer. So you don't need the disc except during installation. You do need to buy Windows XP (just the ordinary version) in order to install it. As I say, it makes it just like a PC. The only difference is that a few things (like the internal iSight camera) don't have Windows drivers yet. But everything like the CD drive, ports, etc works fine, and yes it plays games very well (assuming your computer has the proper graphics card -- the MacBook for example isn't a great gaming machine for that reason).
I don't think there are any major problems with Boot Camp, even though it is in beta. You just need to make sure you follow the directions well.

Boot Camps purpose is to boot Windows....translating BIOS/EIF instructions. After that you are running a Windows machine. Can Boot Camp detect a CD to play PC games? No, because Boot Camp wouldn't be running....Windows would be.
