macbook IR port active under windows?

Does anyone know if the MacBook IR port is active under windows? I'm getting a Polar HR/Speed/Distance/Kitchen Sink Watch, and it of course is windows only, and communicates with the computer over IR.

I don't expect it to work under parallels, but if it did, I'd be even more happierer.

IIRC, the IR port is not, and will not work as a data port, its purely for a remote
