Hi all,
Trying to get Linux installed on my original dual-G5 this weekend with little luck. I've downloaded both the Ubuntu and Kubuntu 6.06 ISOs, burned onto a CD, and installed on my secondary internal drive. Install goes without a hitch.
The problem is after the install -- I can't boot using the new install. During startup, I hold down the option key, and then see two boot drives -- one with a OS X badge, and one with the Tux/Linux badge. I select the Linux drive, and it takes me to a black terminal screen where I have 3 options:
L for boot into Linux
C for boot using CD
X for boot into OS X
Every time I select L, it simply takes me back to the boot drive select screen.
Any ideas? I think it's a yaboot problem, but I'm not sure how to fix it since yaboot doesn't appear to have a binary/installer, just a source file (and I haven't a clue as to how to compile the thing... I mess with fink once and thought 'no thanks').
Any help tips/help appreciated!
