saving Kubuntu configuration

Is there any way to get Kubuntu to save your desktop configuration so that the next time you boot it, you do not have to go through the entire setup again?
Knoppix makes it so easy to save things with a point-and-click interface, and Kubuntu does not seem to have any way to do it. Even searching its manual produced no results.
