What is the proper way to install a Windows app into DarWINE? I tried installing a couple of .exe files, but I got an error message: "Unable to locate X11.app. Make sure X11 has been installed." When I tried to install X11, I got a message saying that a newer version was already installed. Just how do you use DarWINE??

Is the X11.app application actually present in /Applications?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

There were a lot of x11 folders, but no app. It is now installed. I am getting somewhere. Is it possible to run a windows program in WINE without doing a formal install? I have some Windows programs that needed only to be dumped into a directory and run. Is there any way to do that with WINE?

x11.app can be found in your install cd/dvd, install x11User.pkg to get it.

You won't get very far at all if you are trying to run DarWINE on a PPC system. If you have an Intel box, I'd simply focus on getting Wine to work. Intel and PowerPC based WINE implementations under OS X are now separate projects.
