Hi,

I'm looking at getting a Macbook Pro 17", and dual booting to XP or Vista for some gaming (and serious work stuff of course ).

Before I spend the couple of grand the laptop will cost, I would like to know what the gfx performance is of the ATI X1600 card under Windows. Ideally what its like playing Half LIfe 2 and FEAR (though I appreciate the latter will need toning down a touch to make it smooth).

If anyone has these games installed, can they do a frame rate test? What res do you have to drop the display to to get a smooth experience ?
