Hi all,
had a question if anyone has run into the "Installer Cd not found" when getting to the point
when trying to install windows for boot camp I just went out a bought a brand new retail version of win xp with sp2 not the upgrade one, I have also tested the cd in my other computer and it is working fine but my macbook pro will not detect the cd at all and after a minute or so ejects it? I have the latest software and firmware updates aswell any idea would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the MacNN Forums! You say you "have the latest software and firmware updates" in your MacBook Pro, but does that include using the latest version of Boot Camp (v 1.1)? And please detail exactly what you (and the computer) were doing just before you got this error message-specifically what step in what process you were at. That will help people see where you were and help us all help you.
Again, welcome to the forums, and I hope we'll have a good answer for you soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome
Yes I also have the beta v1.1 and the step I was at was, right after partitioning the hard drive for windows xp it asks you to insert the windows xp sp2 cd to start with the installation of windows
I insert my new "non OEM" version of windows home edition with sp2 and wait a few seconds then I press the start installation button and it says no installer cd found, I have also checked other disks in my drive and they appear to all at least be read by the MacBook Pro but this one it doesnt seem to detect for some reason.
ps. its great to be on the macnn forums I have never subscribed to one before!

You don't necessarily need to use that button in Boot Camp. Once you've partitioned the HDD, just insert the disk and restart your computer. While booting, hold down "Option" and you should get two options: one for OS X, and one for the installer CD (it'll be an image of a CD with the word "Windows" underneath). Boot from the CD and all should go right from there!
And if you don't see this CD, there might be an issue with the CD itself. Did you burn it yourself? It might be a bad burn/dirty disk/etc.
