Hi,

Does anyone know how to network the Linux Ubuntu with the Mac OSX?

I would like to share files and printer with my Mac mini and a Ubuntu PC. So that they can do this:

There's a Netatalk package for Ubuntu. Install that and a Zeroconf package and Ubuntu should feel right at home.

Thanks for the reply. uhmmm, doesn't Netatalk requires AppleTalk? I thought there's a way I can use Samba so that I can stay with the Ethernet connection. I just don't know the exact detail how to configureate it

Actually to have Netatalk working you'll need to compile the latest version from source due to recent changes in the kernel. Unfortunately no one has seemed to package it quite yet.

You should just be able to use Samba. When I was running Ubuntu I had to install the latest Samba before my Ubuntu machine could see my G5, but that was Ubuntu 5.10, so that may not be necessary in the latest release. You need to turn on Windows sharing on the Mac.
