OK so my friend was showing me his new ibook very nice laptop i like the parallel feature which alows you to switch between mac os and windows while having them run at the same time and being able to do seperate things on them.
OK so my question is....
I have a sony vaio pc with windows xp home edition on it and i want to install mac on it now my friend was telling me that i could make a partition install mac os on it and i could have both windows and mac os on my computer and run them both by choosing from mac or windows when the computer starts up.
so my question would be is that true/possible? and if so....
Is there a way i can get parallel to work on my pc so i can run both mac and windows at the same time and be able to switch between them like on a mac computer?
legal or illegal hacks or no hacks it doesnt matter i just want to know if its possible and how it can be done if it is.
(if this question has been asked before or a guide/reply has been made to this type of question already i'm sorry and can u please tell me where to find it)

It can be done illegally, but it's pretty broken on normal PC's (despite what other forum members might say). Lots of things don't work, and Apple will break your installation every update. It's not worth it, and we don't discuss illegal hacks here.
Just buy a Mac.

What Colin said. It can be done, MacNN won't support it, and it doesn't work all that well.

I've read of people who have installed OS X on PC with great success. The trick, is to make sure that your computer has the proper/compatible components.
However, as has already been mentioned, updating to newer versions may be a bit of a PITA and it's illegal.

Try the "Search This Forum" tool at the top of the forum listing.
And has been mentioned, it's technically possible but a violation of the Apple licensing agreement (at least in many jurisdictions) so MacNN will NOT help you with it.
