if somebody create a brand new OS that runs on a Mac Hardware only (like other OS option) will you install it on your Mac? Somebody told me about a rumor of a third party OS for Mac that will run only on intel Macs... if it true, I think I will try just for curiosity... what about you?

Neo OS (if that is even OS) is not "the only third-party OS for the Mac". An Intel-Mac is basically a regular x86-PC. And there are many third-party systems for that, including Windows.

How is this about an application? This item should be in the Alternative Operating Systems forum, if anywhere at all...

Sorry about that, I didn't knew where to post something like this.... lock it up if you want or move it to the right place... I'm really sorry, my bad.

What are you looking for? There are tons of Linux distros that run on either PPC or x86 Macs (or both). There is no "Mac platform" in the way you are thinking of it - it's either PPC/x86 compatible or it isn't.

If I didn't want to run Mac OS X I'd buy a PC.

You mean "Wasn't BeOS for old PowerPC Macs?" right? Yes it, was. Originally written for custom hardware running the PowerPC 603, it was later modified to run on PowerPC based Mac systems and later generic PC's (with a very limited number of supported peripherals and configurations). Very cool OS, Palm bought the company out as they started their own nose-dive to oblivion.

You could always use the BeOS for Windows and run that inside a Parallels session, but it may blow your mental stack...

That's a damn shame. I mean, it is for curiosity only, but still there was a lot to love in the ol' BeOS. We've probably dragged this thread way off topic by now, ha!
