I have a friend whom I'm trying to convince to switch to the Mac, but he maintains that under Parallels, one cannot copy/paste between Windows and the MacOS. Surely that isn't true?!

It certainly is true. You cannot copy and paste between Windows and MacOS through Parallels.

Umm, yes you can. I do it all the time.
Parallels Product Info
...you can easily share documents and folders, or cut and paste data, between any Windows XP, 2003 or 2000 virtual machine and your Mac OS X machine. No networking or complicated set up required!

I second that... do it all the time... once you've installed Parallel Tools into Windows XP, the transition between Mac and Windows is very seamless... I love it.

There was an issue in an earlier Parallels build where you didn't get the last character but they've fixed that now.

Parallel Tools still doesn't support copy/pasting anything other than unformatted text, not even with version 3.0. You need to go by way of files from graphics, though drag-and-drop now works.

I have copied documents, including JPEGs and full Word docs, by dragging them out of the Parallels OS window to my Mac desktop. I've done the reverse too. It DOES work, and it's so straightforward that I'm surprised anyone disputes that it works.
Or are we differentiating between "copy and paste detailed selections from within documents" from "copy and paste the whole document"?

Julio,
Can you create a new thread with more details about what you are trying to do? It confuses people when old (zombie) threads are resuscitated.
Thanks,
Steve
