Sorry if this has been addressed, but I DID search for the terms, and even just "64" in this forum, to no avail...

Will Windoze XP Pro 64 bit work through bootcamp on Intel Macs? Anyone try it? Results?

I hope to be able to run the 64 bit version of Cinema4D on a MacPro, since Maxon does not have a 64 bit version of C4D for the Mac [see: http://www.maxon.net/ ]
"Note for Apple users:
Even though the G5 processors of the Apple Power Mac series are 64-Bit CPUs, 64-Bit applications are not entirely supported by the OS X operating system. Only command line based programs can take advantage of the 64-Bit memory adressroom. Programs with a graphical user interface (GUI) can only run in 32-Bit mode. Therefore we can unfortunately not offer a 64-Bit version of CINEMA 4D for Macintosh. More information on this topic can be found here: Developing 64-bit Applications "

What do you guys think? I don't see why not, but then again, I was just reading on the MSoft website that not all 32 bit drivers will work in XP 64-bit... So...

Apple - Support - Discussions - Boot Camp on Mac Pro w/ Win XP 64 bit ...

It looks like it won't run perfectly, yet, and yes, it is a driver issue as suspected.

...as long as there are drivers it should work. The problem is I don't know whether or nor such drivers exist. Anyone?

This is a very tricky one: The Core 2 Duo is a 64bit chip, but Intel limits it to 32bits in many ways= The Core 2 Duo (new iMac etc) runs a 32bit OS where as the Mac Pro runs a 64bit OS.

Current OSX is a 64bit OS that will also run on 32bit chips. When it senses a 64bit chip it changes over to 64bit. Current OSX does not care and will run on 32/64bit systems (thankfully).

Is there a way to turn a Core 2 Duo "on" to access the 64bit capabilities? -unsure at this point.
