Okay, it was the firewall blocking webbrowsers trying to connect to the interent. Sadly, there were no pop-ups or warnings that this might happen. Only when I turned off the firewall and back on again, it asked me wether I should allow the app to connect.
Now that I've got IE 7 up and "running" a couple of odd things are happening. Whenever I try to "manage the favorites" or do a find (ctrl + f), the browser will display a dialogue box saying "a script error has occured on this site...", eventhough there is no site loaded in the browser.
What "scripts" does IE execute to do a "search" or to manage "favorites"? - The joys of web development with IE on Windows.
