OK so I got the Parallel desktop installed but no matter what I read in the manual I don't see where or when to install XP. I have tried to turn on the VM but clicking on the power on button but the screen on my Mac takes on a grey cast and I get a message that I have to restart the machine. Of course I can't do anything at this point because the mouse is locked up and nothing will work. My only option is to just use the power button and shut the whole thing down.

I have gotten up to page 38 in the user manual, then down the list to #7, then when I get to #8. that is when I get totally locked up.

Can anyone help me from this point? I just knew when I got near windoze something was going to go wrong.

You're experiencing a kernel panic. What kind of Mac are you using? Earlier versions of Parallels had problems with kernel panics, especially on the Mac Pro. Try updating to the absolute latest version.

Thanks for the tip. I do have the older version of Parallels. I will update it tonight. Then I will see how it does.
