Help. I think I heard that this is possible. I have a copy of Virtual PC6 with Windows XP Pro on the disc (it's a two disc set, the second disc says "extra system files."
I want to install the copy of Windows XP Pro that is on this disc onto a PC; not a virtual PC.
After calling Microsoft and being put on hold several times for about two hours, they told me that it's not possible.
Has anyone done this? If so, how??
Any input is appreciated!
Alex

Try this:
You should have two blue discs and one white disc, the white disk is Windows xp
This disc has a folder = I386
Look for the application file named WINNT32 when you run this it should start win xp installation process.
Hope that it works for you

Only have two discs. The PC will only read disc two. I will check for the file you mentioned and post my results. I know XP is on the first disc because my Mac can read it. Can I somehow create a XP install disc on my Mac??
Thanks for your help!!
I would hate to have to pay for ANOTHER COPY of XP!

Regret that I am not very knowledgable but I think that you will need to access a computer running windows XP professional to read your disk and copy the I386 folder to a new CD - you should have the Win XP product Key on the back of your cd your case. You may then consider 'slipstreaming' a cd with windows xp service pack 2 which may not be included in your disk and which is recommended.
I think that you may need a 'Windows' friend to assist you.
Good luck
