So I posted here a couple of weeks ago about how you could reinstall XP easily. I received a quick response and I thank you (forgot who the mod was) for that. Unfortunately more problems have arisen, and I need more direction. Basically I am the conduit of info for my friend who is the one having to run bootcamp etc. She needs its to run a mess of software like autocad, maya and rhino.
I'll try to keep it short and sweet, but I also want to include as much pertinent info as possible. Before redoing Bootcamp she noticed that in Windows Xp she was getting unintended shutdowns, and in OSX her computer would just black out and she'd have to hold down the power button and restart. So redoes Bootcamp (using the assistant?) and reinstalls XP (it's SP2). She chose FAT32 and partitioned it for 17 gbs. She has now begun to experience problems with "things" not working that had not been previous issues. She took it to the IT guys at her school, who are disdainful for Macs evidently. They basically said she has to reinstall again, and there were new issues after her visit to them. Including the blackout thing in OSX
Finally my question (and I do appreciate anyone who has bothered to read this far). Should she just redo the bootcamp thing again and redo the partition and install of XP? Is there any reason she should be using FAT32 rather than NTFS? From reading here I know in NTFS OSX can write to it. I too, am not real savvy with computers, so I really don't know what the ramifications are for NTFS. Also, is she gonna have to reinstall OSX b/c of the OSX blackout problems, or is this related to XP/Bootcamp things? Or should she do the disk repair thing (which I also am not too familiar with)?
Thanks so much, and I would appreciate anyone's guidance re: any of these issues.

An important question: what type of Mac does she have? A fair amount of MacBooks have a documented problem where they will randomly and suddenly shut down, regardless of the OS being run. Recent firmware updates have helped the problem, but are by no means a panacea. Either way, this sounds much more like a hardware issue, not a problem with Windows itself (especially since she has similar symptoms in both OSs). My best advice to her would be to have it checked out at an Apple store, where they can more easily diagnose the problem.

She has the newest macbook pro (15 inch screen I think), intel etc. Where can I find the info regarding this issue? Also, She had the computer for about two months, did the bootcamp thing about a month ago and then had the problems. Before that I don't think she was having the shutdown issues. Thanks
