in anticipation of my new macbook pro (hopefully tomorrow) i was wondering if anyone had any success/experience with running gentoo on one? i don't care for windows, but would like to use bootcamp for picking between macos and linux.

i've found this info on installation, but it isn't specific to the pro model and there are a couple of mentions of things not working the same between the macbook and pro models.

At this point in time, Boot Camp only supports Windows XP SP2. Currently, you have only one virtualization option:

Boot Camp really doesn't care once it makes the partition what you put on it. BUT... Unless there are a lot of good drivers for Gentoo on THIS PARTICULAR HARDWARE, you might have some real problems. The reason that there are differences in how things work on the MacBook and the MacBook Pro is that their hardware is significantly different. I would not put a lot of effort into Gentoo unless there were some pretty substantial claims of it working ON AN MBP.
