So, I got my Pismo up and running again and tried to install the latest Ubuntu release. I downloaded the .iso for 6.10, burned it and booted up: nada. Lots of CD spinning and a blank screen. So I downloaded the next release down and the same thing. No Linux. I know it's not the hardware because I installed 9.2.2 and 10.4 on the same machine earlier today.

For shits and grins I used Disk Utility to verify the .isos and got this: Invalid number of allocation blocks. Can an .iso be bad? What are the chances of two in a row?
The era of anthropomorphizing hardware is over.
