No, I WAS, BootCamp cannot do OS 9. BootCamp is a hack to allow a Mactel to boot into BIOS so that Windows can run instead of OS X. But the real reason why Windows runs is because of the Intel processor. Running OS 9 on a Mactel would involve a PPC emulator, which would have nothing to do with BootCamp. It's not going to happen. You can find PPC emulators, but none will come from Apple.

SheepShaver has been ported to those "Macintels" some time ago when the first iMacs and MacBookPros went down the Intel "road". SheepShaver is a "G4" PPC emulator (according to the author's comments) that can run MacOS 7.5.2 through 9.0.4. It will not be able to run OS 9.1 through 9.2.2.

What is there in OS 9 that you still need that doesn't have an OS X app?

There are a good deal of titles that never went to OS X. Namely, a bunch of games.

Also, "I WAS the One" you might notice that Classic is gone as well.

I got a lot of software that I still use today on a PMG4 running Mac OS 9.2.2, I will like to have more speed, a faster machine will run my Apps more faster than those oldest processors. Also, my external hardware are valuable for me, and they are still working, slow, but I'm use to it. like Wacom professional tablets, Microtek Hi-end Scanners, poster-size Epson printers, and so on... my Apps are great because I know them from A to Z with all the plug-ins and all, I know they'll come in OS X but, I will need to pay for them again. and for Audio I got my Mac hook up with consoles and compressors that it cost me too much back then, and I still use them. From graphics to audio production I need Mac OS 9.2.2, as you told me already, Classic it's gone forever, and the emulators don't do Mac OS 9.2.2. I will be stuck with all of these if I don't find a faster machine that runs 9.

Right now, I need a new Mac, not a new PC. and I'm confused about what to buy. I'm in the middle of a MBP or an iMac 24" they got the same specs but one include a laaaarge monitor and the other one it's a great portable solution... but that's another thread.
