I can't imagine any reason why (or how, for that matter) Microsoft wouldn't allow Vista to be run via Bootcamp. After all, a Windows sale is a Windows sale, whether it's running on a Mac or a Dell. The real question is when Apple will fully support Vista by releasing a fully Vista-compatible driver package. As of right now, the only way to install the Apple drivers in Vista involves a few tricks to extract and manually install them. Even then, certain components (iSight in particular) just don't work yet.

I'd say that all will be fixed by the time Leopard is released next Spring.

Any ramblings are entirely my own, and do not represent those of my employers, coworkers, friends, or species

Microsoft has made no such announcement. It's not up to Microsoft to decide. Apple will decide whether boot camp will run Vista, and I can assure you that it will. If not at first, then later.

Vista works fine in Boot Camp. I installed Win XP SP2 in Boot Camp per Apple's instructions. Then booted into XP and upgraded to Vista. No problems.
